Why The Lions Don't Win

The Fans

While most discussions of why sports teams fail concern ownership, management, coaching, and players (don't worry we'll get to those), I'm starting off my discussion with the fans.

Lions fans just don't get it.  While I have the utmost respect for their loyalty, passion, and dedication, they fail to grasp the idea that their blind love and ticket purchasing is contributing to the very lack of success about which they complain.

Ever wonder what might happen to the Lions if the fans actually demanded more by voting with their dollars instead of calling into local sports radio shows?

I find it hilarious that so many "disgruntled" Lions fans dismantle the entire organization publicly, but continue to buy season tickets, the price of which continues to soar despite the Lions being one of the worst sports franchises in history.
